Moon Over the Sierras Brooch/Necklace

$1,460.00

A new series, using gold balls ‘dripping’ down the jewelry, is inspired by the California Gold Rush. Gold balls dripping and one gold ball is set in 18k gold representing the preciousness of the material.

The River surges carrying golden flecks caught by the light of the moon. Lazily drifting towards a fork in the river, swishing to the rhythm settling into the lode. Debris follows, eroded from sandy beds muting the sparkle at intervals until a building inspector sees the light. And then, prospectors exploit the veins mining the Mother Lode, Mother Earth’s gilded cousin. Mining the American River, sluiced and abandoned, leaving scars and a silty pair of jeans.

Materials: Oxidized sterling silver hollow forms are used in conjunction with 18k gold accents, cat’s eye rutilated quartz and chrome diopside are set in 22k gold, pyrite on Shungite set in textured fine silver.

Dimenstions: 1.75 x 1.75 x .50 inches.
